The day before Hilo, Hawaii and still at sea

It has calmed down somewhat, thank goodness; we deserve it as, since I last wrote, the Pacific swell has been relentless.  Just as one begins to believe we’ve seen the worst and the swell subsides, within the space of just a few hours it would rise again.  Never mind, tomorrow we dock in Hilo, on the ‘Big Island’.  We have had numerous functions since my last post; dinners, (eating my way around the globe), fashion events, (not me I hasten to add, I merely had orders to take photos by you know who), drills, inspections and ’rounds’ of the ship, one is never short of things to do.

Here is the fashion show, clothes are from an on-board designer and the models are guests.

We passed a sperm whale the other morning, a rare sight and, much to my annoyance, I had left my camera on the desk in my office, I could have kicked myself. That’ll teach me, lesson learned.  Compared with our friend the Humpback, the Sperm whale is massive, they grow up to 70 feet or 20 metres long and this one was easily just that.

I have had requests to post a photo of my new granddaughter, so here are some.

Now she’s over 4 weeks old.

So, tomorrow, I have to rely on K1 and her camera.  She’s off with 2 friends to view Waterfalls, Volcanoes and no doubt, the shops while I mind my ‘shop, here on board.
