13th April, towards Praia

A Sunday and a relatively quiet day, at least one hopes so.  A crew cabin inspection, (as Master, I am legally bound to inspect accommodation) and this evening, the last of my Captains’ dinners, yeah!  I’ve lost count of how many I’ve done, I believe this will be the 11th……..

We passed through the Intertropical Convergence Zone and the worst of the rainfall seems to be astern of us, the morning is bright and sunny.  Of course, we are nearing the end of this Grand World voyage, (although we have some ports remaining).  Now comes the paperwork in earnest.

I have to complete an ‘end of contract’ report, usually a tome of 25-30 pages, appraisals for my Staff officers, a handover report for my relief, Captain Eversen, who will take command in Fort Lauderdale, to name but a few.  There never seems to be enough hours in the day and every visitor to my door, phone call or meeting only  interrupts my typing, ( 2-finger and slow).

I had this lovely video from Liz, of Vi seemingly having a conversation with her Mum and I thought I’d share it with you, it will make you chuckle.
