9th February

Having had my camera return after K1’s tour of Melbourne, a post today consisting mainly of photographs.  I am indebted to Jonathan Bailey, our Environmental Officer, who, after our Australian Authority Inspection yesterday, managed to get ashore for a tour and take some stunning wildlife photos.

First though some of Karen’s, she along with usual companions, K2 and Hazel, went to the Yarra Valley wine-growing district.

Yesterday I mentioned the ‘Rip’ in my post, the body of water where Melbourne Bay meets to open water of the Bass Straits.  We went through with an ebb tide, (south-going) and wind from the south.  The tide was at 3.7 knots, about 4mph/6½kph.  My photos don’t do justice as to how it looked, however here are a couple I took as we went through.
