I certainly want to take time to tell you how I appreciated your email as I did post sort of a lengthy one.
How funny your home doing what we do normally and you really don’t have to think about that vacation(Holiday). Even though your job as Captain is your work, but you get to see the things we have to make plans and choices to do.
Enjoy your time off and don’t let your wife work you to hard, with a house there is always maintenance.and up keep.
Hope your getting lots of enjoyment with the grandkids.
One thing with modern technology you probably keep up with them then you did seeing your children or child grow up.
July will be here before you know it and I would love to cruise on your ship one day.
Don’t go on the Veendam that was a bad experience for us on a PC trip in Oct/Nov 2013

I have read with so much interest the way you posted about being the Captain of the ship and the duties it entails. The best part was your blog and reading the daily blog of a passenger couple.. They are both wonderful and fun to read each side of the coin.
Enjoyed the ship information, port information and all the photo’s you posted too.
It is lovely to have your wife along with you and I’m sure both are looking forward to going home to see family and those cute grandchildren.
I’m so glad I found your blog and will look for more postings.
When I share some of your information with others I was asked and do not know if you get paid to do this??
Again thanks for all that you took time to do for us that like to cruise but haven’t taken a world cruise. My little 100 days with HAL doesn’t seem like much to many, but I think with one cruise line I have done well and hope to continue.
Thank you for your comments, so pleased you enjoyed my ‘blogging’. In answer to your question, no, I am not paid, I do it for the enjoyment of ‘sharing’ my experiences and knowing that it’s appreciated. In fact, during the (few) evenings when I didn’t have a social function, I found it very relaxing. It used to take some time, especially posting the photos, (resizing them for the web), however I found, in the last 2 weeks, a programme called ‘Blogstomp’, which does it all for you. I only wish that I had known of it when I started! 🙂 100 days is in itself an achievement, there were some on board who had never sailed with HAL before, so please don’t belittle those 100! 🙂 I will certainly continue, my first days of ‘leave’ have been full of ‘honey-do’ items. You should see the mail after 4 months!!!!
