Having had my camera return after K1’s tour of Melbourne, a post today consisting mainly of photographs. I am indebted to Jonathan Bailey, our Environmental Officer, who, after our Australian Authority Inspection yesterday, managed to get ashore for a tour and take some stunning wildlife photos.
First though some of Karen’s, she along with usual companions, K2 and Hazel, went to the Yarra Valley wine-growing district.

The Jonathan’s, our Environmental Officer…
Yesterday I mentioned the ‘Rip’ in my post, the body of water where Melbourne Bay meets to open water of the Bass Straits. We went through with an ebb tide, (south-going) and wind from the south. The tide was at 3.7 knots, about 4mph/6½kph. My photos don’t do justice as to how it looked, however here are a couple I took as we went through.
Finally, one of Karen’s; us leaving Melbourne,
Dear Captain,
Enjoying hearing about the journey wishing we were there…photos are great both Karen’s and your’s! Since not sailing on the 2016 WC I am a devoted follower of 3 blogs and a 4th of the Grand S. Amer. Antartica. Like getting post cards from friends – I love it!
Thanks for the continued posts. Safe travels!
Good afternoon Rosie, I have tried in vain to find a blogger on the Amsterdam and no luck. Would you mind sharing the links to there blogs.

Thank you so very much for the info, I see Jeff is from the same place I lived for some time and the other cities in the tidewater.
Spend 4 days in Melbourne last year before boarding the Amsterdam. I like this place. Great pictures. Thanks for your reports.
