24th August, Family

Ah, Monday, I love Mondays  🙂 After the Saturday and Sunday schedule, it is a time to catch up with the emails and the internal management of this lovely ship.

I will start 2 posts if time allows; the first is ‘family’ and some new photographs of Olly and Emily.  Before I do so, I had a hilarious experience with Emily last week.  I normally Face-time them on Sundays. when we’re in Seattle, when I have a strong signal on my mobile, so I was very surprised when my phone rang while at sea.  Upon answering, I was surprised to see Emily’s face on camera.  “hello Emily” I said, the reply being “oh oh” and lots of gobbledygook, interspersed with the occasional “Gramps”.  Judging by the camera movements, she was apparently climbing the stairs.  This proved to be the case as I then saw a bewildered Sam, Emily having apparently handed the iPad to her, pointing out to her Mum that ‘Gramps’ was on the iPad.  At 2½ years old, technology is obviously not going to present a challenge to her  🙂

On a glorious summer day, the family went raspberry picking.
